Since graduating in English literature, he has worked in communications and the book trade in New York City and Dallas. He is currently a research assistant for a Dallas-area writer/photographer and regularly freelances as a copyeditor. As a student, Ryan wrote on sports for the Megaphone, edited the Southwestern University Magazine and served as president of Sigma Tau Delta English Honors Society. Ryan enjoys reading, playing cello in a string quartet, video and documentary projects, volunteering in the community and travel. His favorite celebrity chef is Julia Child.
