The majority of Dr. F. Fleming Crim's research for the past 20 years has focused on the most basic elements of chemistry and physics. Crim is presently the John E. Willard Professor and the Hilldale Professor of Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. His current work aims to understand chemical reactions in fundamental detail by using lasers to change the way molecules react.

Bob Dupuy views his commitment to enhance Southwestern's alumni programming as part of his "responsibility as an alumnus." At the invitation of former classmate and current Southwestern President Jake B. Schrum '68, Dupuy serves as chair of the Alumni Self-Study Implementation Steering Committee. The group is charged with carrying out the recommendations made last year by the Alumni Self-Study Commission, which developed strategic plans to strengthen and enrich alumni programs.
