Rebekah Thedford Thoning, Austin, teaches special education and coaches volleyball at Bedichek middle school. She is married to Lucas Groning Thoning `02, who teaches physics and chemistry at Bowie high school.
A native of Austin, Vanessa Solesbee initially came to Southwestern to play volleyball with no inclination of a chosen profession. Now only a few years after graduation, she is at the forefront of Texan politics.
After his time in the military, Jimmy Wright '02 left the public sector for the business world and now works as an independent landman in the oil and gas business.
Matthew Brown '02 recently began his first year of a two-year master of music program in orchestral conducting at the Peabody Conservatory at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md. In addition to course work, the program consists primarily of working twice a week with a full practice orchestra under the tutelage of world-renowned conducting teacher Gustav Meier. He also received a graduate assistantship in opera conducting.
Barely three months into her first semester at Harvard Law School, Katie Kirkendall has completely immersed herself into the campus community. To those who knew her at Southwestern, this comes as little surprise.
