Curtain Up! Light the Lights! is a showcase of Broadway song and dance. In collaboration with Dance Repertory Theatre, this musical revue, directed by Professor of Theatre Rick Roemer, takes you on a journey through Broadway musical history with such stellar composers as Irving Berlin, George & Ira Gershwin, Lerner & Lowe, Jerry Herman, Stephen Sondheim, and Andrew Lloyd Webber. San Angelo Road Scholars - April 20
Road Scholars are events when the Office of Alumni Relations takes a member of the SU faculty "on the road" to speak to alumni and friends in certain geographical areas. Recently, Road Scholars events have been held in Houston and Beaumont, Texas. On Tuesday, April 20, alumni in the San Angelo area are invited to join David Gaines, associate professor and chair of the Department of English; Paideia Professor, for an evening of intellectual discussion. Homecoming 2004-Weekend Events Taking Shape
The weekend events for Homecoming 2004 are taking shape, and it promises to be another incredible Homecoming.

Susan Holley '72 will serve with sophomore Dan Slezak as the co-chairs for the Homecoming Planning Committee. This year's Homecoming will include reunion celebrations of the classes of 1954, 1964, 1974, 1979, 1984, 1994, and 1999. Mark your calendar for October 22-24, for Homecoming and Reunion Weekend!
SU Alumni to Perform at Carnegie Hall
More than 100 Southwestern singers including alumni, students and faculty will perform on Wednesday, November 24, 2004, at New York City's Carnegie Hall. In the first year after launching the Southwestern Alumni Identification Card Program, the Office of Alumni Relations has issued over 500 Alumni ID Cards! Benefits include: free usage of the A. Frank Smith, Jr. Library Center; free usage of the Corbin J. Robertson Recreation and Athletic Center and Howry Tennis Courts (including complimentary towel and equipment checkout); free green fees at the Kurth-Landrum Golf Course; and discounts for massage services. At the end of the academic year, Jan Dawson, Professor of History will retire from Southwestern. Pirate Athletics Update
The Southwestern Spring Intercollegiate Athletic Teams are wrapping up their 2004 seasons. The Pirate Baseball team is currently 19-16 with their last season home games against Hendrix, Saturday, April 17 at 2 p.m. and Sunday, April 18 at 1 p.m. Both games are doubleheaders. This year is especially remarkable for the Pirate Baseball team because it marks the last year of Coach Jim Mallon's distinguished coaching career at Southwestern.
The SU Men's and Women's Tennis Teams have only a few matches left before they compete in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) tournament in Atlanta, GA. The Pirate Men are 6-7 for the year, and the Pirate Women are 8-7. The Pirate Tennis Teams
play tomorrow, Saturday, April 17, in Dallas against Collin County at 11 a.m.and University of Dallas at 3:30 p.m.
The Southwestern Track team had a successful meet at the University of Dallas Track and Field Invitational April 3 with the SU men finishing second and the SU women also placing second. For more athletic news visit <
