What is Your Southwestern Story?
Do you still spend time with your closest Southwestern friends? Did you form a memorable academic relationship with a faculty member? Do you have a eventful experience with a Southwestern ghost? Do you continue to celebrate your finest antics from college?
The story of Southwestern does not simply lie in the official history, the buildings or even the yearbooks. There is a rich story within the memories and present day connections of each alumnus/alumna, faculty and staff member. It is those personal accounts that we cherish, laugh about and share with others long after graduation.
This year's theme for Homecoming and Reunion Weekend is "The Story of Southwestern." In the spirit of the festivities, please share your favorite Southwestern story!
Stories will be released in various ways surrounding Homecoming and Reunion Weekend. All accepted submissions will be printed in a booklet to be offered during Homecoming and Reunion Weekend. Selected stories will be highlighted on the Alumni Web site. And... The "Top 5 Stories" will be selected for publication in the Southwestern @ Georgetown magazine (V18.1)!
Accepted stories must include:
- Your full name (including your maiden name, if appropriate).
- Your class year. (For example, if you are a member of the Class of 1985, please write this as '85).
- The title of your story.
- The beginning line, "My name is (full name here) and this is my Southwestern story."
- A maximum of 500 words.
E-mail your story to alumni@southwestern.edu. Submissions are due no later than Sept. 22, 2006.
