Barbara and George Brightwell will celebrate their 70th birthdays this summer. Over the years, these individuals have given their time, talents, and resources to benefit their community. In celebrating this major life milestone, they are doing it again!
As a way of expressing their appreciation for their many blessings, the Brightwells are issuing a $25,000 challenge to build a Habitat House in Georgetown, Texas. According to Barbara and George, "We have been blessed all our lives to be able to have a nice house to call home. We want a family in Georgetown to have that experience through Habitat for Humanity. It is our hope that our generous friends will meet our challenge, and that others will be inspired to issue similar challenges to celebrate significant milestones in their lives."
It costs roughly $50,000 to build a Habitat House in Georgetown. The Brightwells are donating half of that amount. Habitat for Humanity of Greater Georgetown, Texas asks others to contribute to the remaining $25,000.
The Brightwells' Challenge Celebration is scheduled for Sunday, August 28, 2005 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Wellspring Methodist Church, 6200 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas. At the groundbreaking for the house funded by this challenge, a special tribute will be given to Barbara and George.
